Where to begin…

Thank you for visiting this, my first attempt at blogging. My name is David J. Larsen and I am a student in the graduate program in Theology at Marquette University.  I have chosen to identify myself in this way because the main purpose of this blog will be to share some of the insights I am gaining during my studies. I have finished one year of my MA program and looking forward to the next.

I have decided to entitle my blog “Heavenly Ascents,” not because the only or even main focus of this blog will be a study of this topic (which I truly enjoy), but mostly because I thought it was a cool title and fitting for a blog that will concern religious studies.  This blog, in fact, will cover a wide range of topics that have to do with theological/religious studies, based on what I am studying in school and other ventures into my own related interests.  As such, I hope this is not too incredibly boring for the rest of you. Some of my research interests include Temple studies, Temple roots of early Christian beliefs, apocalyptic writings, intertestamental literature, and pseudepigrapha.

I can’t promise to post too frequently, because my schedule often does not allow, but I will try to put up some good stuff fairly regularly.  Thanks again for visiting!
